To support the domestic development of formal theory study, the 7th scientific committee for the special fund of National Science Foundation of China decided in 2019 that the University of Science and Technology of China along with the Northwest University considered to build jointly the Peng Huanwu Center for fundamental Theory in High Energy Physics. The center will mainly carry out academic research and exchange on formal theories including field theory, string theory and related mathematical physics,in order to promote the China's overall academic level in the related fields. In view of this, the center plans to sponsor one national symposium on field theory and string theory each year, in order to provide an opportunity for further discussions and exchanges among domestic researchers in related fields.
