Abstract: Since the first evidence of a global polarization of Λ hyperons in 2017, spin polarization is becoming a very important observable to probe the evolution and the properties of the QCD plasma formed in relativistic nuclear collisions. In this talk, I will review the main results in this relatively new field, with emphasis on theoretical calculations and their still open issues. I will show how spin polarization measurement may provide a very valuable information on the viscous properties of the plasma.
