Abstract: Colliding heavy ions at high energies can break up protons and neutrons to form a hot subatomic fluid known as quark gluon plasma (QGP). This new state of matter is believed to have existed microseconds after the Big Bang and is now replicated in laboratories at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) --- the little bangs. In this talk, I will discuss the intricate dynamics of heavy ion collisions and the distinct properties of QGP, such as its thermodynamic properties, its transport features, and the spin polarization phenomenon and anomalous chiral transport in it.
