Workshop on Gravity and Cosmology 2021

After entering the new centurygravity and cosmology have developed very rapidly. The LIGO / Virgo successfully detected the gravitational waves generated by the mergers of binary black holes and binary neutron stars, which provided a solid experimental basis for the test of general relativity. A large number of cosmological observations reveal the fact that the universe is dominated by dark energy and dark matter. Theoretically, the discovery of gravity-gauge duality has taken a big step towards understanding the essence of gravity. This method has also been widely used in strongly correlated systems such as condensed matter and quark-gluon plasma; Cosmological perturbation theory and Inflation + lambdaCDM model have also achieved great success, which provides a new framework for us to understand the origin and evolution of the universe. However, there are still some unsolved mysteries in the field of gravity and cosmology, including the existence of the primordial gravitational waves, quantum gravity theory, black hole entropy, cosmological singularity, and the Hubble tension problem, etc.

In order to further strengthen the cooperation and communication with colleagues, the workshop on Gravity and Cosmology 2021, sponsored by Peng Huanwu Center for Fundamental Theory, was held in University of Science and Technology of China from December 9 to 12, 2021
