Abstract: One of approaches in obtaining the matrix formulation of M-theory is to discretize the usual membrane in a special form which can serve this purpose. This requires a choice of some particular gauge. In this talk, we will give a comprehensive introduction on how to choose such a gauge and explain why such a choice is a consistent one.
